yoyosup is an independent publication of scam-education guides and consumer-safety explainers. We also keep free, no-signup checkers next to those articles so a reader can look at a specific message without installing an app.
Why this exists
Mainly this: watching aging parents face scams makes you sick to your stomach. Package-fee texts, fake bank alerts, and “your boss needs gift cards” hit families every week. There are a lot of dirtbags in the world — and most people do not want another subscription or a sales pitch when they are already anxious.
The writing goal is simple: explain the trick, show a sample, and give the next three steps. If you then want to paste the actual text, a checker is one click away. The same brand also runs a multi-source news attention map and a rates/markets dashboard, so everyday questions can live in one place.
Who writes it — Tony
I’m Tony, 56. I grew up in rural central Minnesota (grade schools and all), studied computer science at BYU and a number of other schools, and I’ve worked in high tech since before the internet was a thing — QA and development on network infrastructure tools. I work for a cybersecurity company today and have extensive experience in that space. I’ve lived in Utah since 1994.
Our family has seven kids and three grandkids. That family lens is why these guides are written in plain English for parents and people who are not “techy.”
yoyosup is a small independent side project — not a large media company. No app-store product, no mandatory signup. Ads on long guides, and optional tips, help keep the lights on when partners approve them. The articles and checkers stay usable without paying.

This site is still smallish, and I’m happy to respond to advice or questions of any sort — guides, scam situations, family tech stuff, or whatever’s on your mind. I may not have King Solomon’s wisdom, but I hear I give good advice 🤷♂️ — so ask, and maybe I’ll write a bit each week on a topic. Use the Contact page or Feedback on any tools page.

- Write in plain English for non-technical readers
- Prefer specific sample scams and clear next steps over hype
- Do not hard-sell on ScamCheck result screens when someone is already worried
- Link to free checkers from guides so content is useful even if you never click an ad
- Correct errors when readers write in; the Contact page is the correction route

Scam text scoring is designed to run in your browser with pattern-based analysis. We do not sell the
contents of messages you paste. We collect lightweight, anonymous usage stats (page views, tool counts,
optional ?ref= tags) so we know what helps people. Details are in the
Privacy Policy.
